How to order a custom cake, from the calculator to the doorstep

Ordering a custom cake looks like a lot of decisions from the outside: dozens of sizes, flavours and designs. In practice it takes about three minutes, and the calculator does most of the work.

1. Work out how many portions you need

The rule of thumb is 120 to 150 g of cake per person. Most people eat one slice at a party and rather more at a sit-down dinner. For a family party of 10 to 15 people, a single-tier cake of 21 to 24 cm is enough. For a wedding table of 50 or more, two or three tiers.

2. Choose the size and shape

Our cakes are round, from 12 cm to 40 cm across. Tiers are what give a cake presence: a two-tier cake of 24 plus 16 cm feeds about twenty people.

3. Pick the sponge and the cream

The combinations people order most:

• Vanilla sponge with mascarpone cream, the one that never disappoints anyone
• Chocolate sponge with caramel cream, for people who want the flavour to be loud
• Red velvet with vanilla cream, which looks as good cut as whole
• Lemon sponge with fruit cream, the light summer option

4. Dietary versions: gluten-free, raw, sugar-free

Every cake we make can be ordered in a dietary version. There is a surcharge on top of the price of the classic cake, and the calculator works out the exact figure for your size:

• Gluten-free, using our own flour blend
• Lactose-free, with lactose-free butter and mascarpone
• Sugar-free, sweetened with birch sugar instead of the usual kind
• Raw, unbaked, without sugar, and vegan

5. Order through the calculator or WhatsApp

The minimum notice is 48 hours. Wedding cakes need 6 to 8 weeks, or 3 to 4 months for a date between May and September. Tiered birthday cakes need 2 to 4 weeks.

6. Delivery or pickup

We deliver across Bratislava and the towns around it. Delivery within Bratislava is €10, and pickup at the studio is free: Ovsištské námestie 1, Petržalka, Bratislava. The cake goes into a rigid box, and we tell you how to get it home in one piece.
