Gluten-free cakes – City Cake Company Bratislava

    Gluten-free cakes

A gluten-free cake swaps wheat flour for a dedicated gluten-free flour blend and keeps everything else: the same fillings, the same decoration, the same look. We have baked custom cakes in Bratislava since 2012 and make gluten-free versions for weddings, birthdays and kids' parties. The gluten-free version carries a surcharge on top of the regular price; the calculator shows the exact figure for the size you pick. Order at least 48 hours ahead, and if you are dealing with a severe allergy or anaphylaxis, please talk to us before ordering.

How we work with gluten-free ingredients

We bake gluten-free cakes from flour blends certified gluten-free by their producers and marked with the crossed-grain symbol, and we run the kitchen to keep cross-contamination to a minimum:

    • Gluten-free cakes are baked in separate time blocks, away from regular production
    • Work surfaces and tins are disinfected before a gluten-free bake
    • Gluten-free ingredients are stored separately, in labelled containers
    • For severe allergies (anaphylaxis), please give us the details with your order so we can plan the bake as safely as we can

One thing to know: our kitchen holds no third-party gluten-free certificate. We work with certified gluten-free ingredients and follow the protocols above, but for medically serious cases, such as confirmed coeliac disease with high sensitivity, please talk to us before ordering.

    Frequently asked questions

Can someone with coeliac disease order your gluten-free cakes?

We bake with gluten-free ingredients that carry the crossed-grain mark and we follow protocols to minimise cross-contamination: separate baking blocks, disinfected surfaces, separate storage. We do not hold a third-party gluten-free certificate though, so for medically serious forms of coeliac disease we recommend a conversation with us before you order.

Do you make gluten-free wedding cakes?

Yes, including tiered wedding cakes in any design from our range. Book 6 to 8 weeks ahead, or 3 to 4 months for a wedding between May and September.

Does a gluten-free cake look different?

No. The decoration, fondant, cream and overall design are identical to the regular version. The only difference is in the sponge blend.

Is a gluten-free cake more expensive?

Gluten-free flour blends cost more than wheat flour, so the gluten-free version carries a surcharge on top of the regular price. The calculator shows the exact figure for the size you pick.

Can one cake combine gluten-free and regular tiers?

Yes, we do this often: a three-tier wedding cake where one tier is gluten-free and two are regular, for example. Each tier is clearly labelled so guests know which is which.
